I LOVE Valentine’s Day…

It’s when lovers wax poetic on their feelings of love, men send flowers, chocolates, and cute stuffed bears with hearts to their women.

It’s my man’s favorite holiday too… “I have plans,” he says to me with a sly smile as he brings me roses last weekend in early preparation. (Yes, I am blessed to have found this love of my life at 60)

Valentine’s Day was my sister Julie’s and her husband, Scott’s favorite holiday too. Each year they held a dance to celebrate and share the love they felt for each other. My heart breaks for her this year – the first Valentine’s Day she will spend without her love who passed last year of brain cancer.

Lord knows we could use more men like Scott. He loved fiercely, lived with integrity and was the best husband and father any woman could hope for. All men in my world compare to you –  you were just that good. So Scott, this blog is for you…

This world, and certainly this country, need love now more than ever. So how do you make this Valentine’s Day the best V-Day ever – even if you are without a partner?

Love fiercely – starting with yourself. See yourself as the perfect embodiment of love. Who is more worthy of love than you?

Share your love – with your pets, your friends, your mom (if you’re lucky enough to still have her). Bring your girlfriends flowers – write them love notes. Let everyone in your life know how much they are loved and how grateful you are that they are there. Love is the highest vibration and sharing love is the surest way to attract more of it to you.

Treat yourself – gather your single girls for a girls night out. Buy yourself a gift. Make a delicious meal at home. Get a massage. Do something to treat yourself with the love you deserve. You are a mirror of love. You will find love in your partner to the degree to which you love yourself – no more and no less.

Believe – that true love is all around you and that the partner you seek is seeking you. There can never be a question without an answer or a desire without the fulfillment of that desire.

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.” ~ Rumi

So unleash your love. Share it with as many as you can. Send other women roses and chocolates. Surround yourself with people and things that you love in celebration of all Saints Valentine.

When your true love enters your life, love him with fierce abandon. Crack open your heart and invite in an ever expanding flow of trust, fulfillment and love.

Start now. Be my valentine and send yourself a love note here. Post below what you love most about you and let’s get this wheel of attraction in motion.

In love,
